There were only a few people in my family who I could actually stand.

And when I happened upon an uncharacteristically cheap rental house in LA, I decided to take

those family members on a winter getaway.

It was partially a thank you for not sucking, but mostly it was because I liked their company

a lot more than my parents or sisters.
